Is Escargot the same as oysters?

Asked: Clément Roberge, Last Updated:

I've had escargot once in France. It usually has a lot of butter on it, so that is the primary flavor. Texture and taste-wise, I would say it's most similar to clams or oysters but more substantial. So it's kind of like have baked clams/oysters in a butter garlic sauce.
